Your pay is based on the number of hours on a given job. You are not paid for travel to and from the job site. Pay is sent out of Charlotte each week to your home address. Each week that you receive a paycheck you will also receive a stamped pre-address envelope in which you will send your receipts into the Charlotte office. Checks are written the day your receipts arrive at the Charlotte office.

You will be required to pick a work schedule based on these times:

All work you perform is in the city you live in. We do try and narrow that down to a sector that you live in, however, that is not always possible. You will be required to travel to the jobs you are assigned. 95% of the jobs you do will be by yourself. We only team maids up in larger homes. Our first job normally starts at 9AM and our second job around 1-1:30PM. Everyone is off by 5PM each day.

Everyone that works for Carolina Maids is given a voice mailbox. Your next days assignments are placed in your voice mailbox prior to 4PM each day. After 4PM each day you may access your private mailbox and take your job assignments for the next day. You do not report to an office prior to a job or are you required to report into an office when the work day is finished. You are dispatched from your home to your first job and when the day is completed you return home.

To be accepted as an independent contractor for Carolina Maids you must go out on one non-paying job with one of our senior maids. This is basically an interview and normally lasts from 2-3 hours. The purpose of this interview is two fold. One to take a look at you and how well you know how to clean, plus, this gives you an opportunity to see someone from our company. All of our senior maids have been with the company a long time and are well versed in the ways we operate. The senior maid will be able to answer any questions you have. This interview requires only you and nothing else. We do suggest you wear normal work clothes. In other words, don't dress up.

On the day you would like to go out and meet with the senior maid you must call 829-9200 between 7:30AM and 8AM, Monday through Friday. Once you have met with the senior maid we will take her recommendation on whether you meet the standards of Carolina Maids. If you do then we will call you and put you to work.

Note: Our phones are very busy in the morning. If you get our voice mail, then leave your name and telephone number (include your area code) and let us know you want to go out with the senior maid. Someone will call you back. If you call after 8PM you will not be sent out that day. Only call on the day you want to go out with the senior maid.

Please do not call our office asking about your application or how you did on the interview. We will notify you if you are accepted as an independent contractor. If you don't get a call then it means you were not accepted.

The application you filled out will be kept on file for 30 days and then destroyed. If you fail to call within the 30 day time frame you will have to start the process over again.
